Kory, Andrew and Jared got together recently at the
Freedom Run on July 4, 2005 in Junction City. Kory just finished his
senior season, during which he set the school record in the 3,200
meters with a time of 9:36. Andrew sent in this picture, saying he
plans to graduate from Bucknell in 2007, and will walk on to the
cross country team in Fall 2005. Since high school, Andrew has run
marathons in Ottawa and Green Bay, and calls himself "an avid road
racer." |

Rick Meyer |
Rick lives
in Leigh, NE where his wife, Theresa, is a pastor of two
congregations. Rick is a full-time motivational and inspirational
speaker (www.rickemeyer.com).
Leigh is a town with a
population of 457 in northeast Nebraska. Guinness, the couple's
chocolate labrador, makes sure he hunts pheasants often in the fall.
Rick continues to run about 50 to 60 miles/week. He has run 8
marathons, including Boston and New York. He was a volunteer
assistant with University of Nebraska at Kearney cross country teams
in the early 1990's. During that time, the men's team had NCAA Div.
II national finishes of 8th, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th with runners from
Nebraska and Kansas. Rick was the 'Clerk of the Start' for the 1994
Regional and National meets in Kearney. |

Darren
Volkel (2003)
Darren Volkel graduated from MHS in 2003. He was a
two-time state qualifier in cross country. He received an athletic
scholarship to run cross
country and track at Cloud County Community
College for the 2004-05 season. In 2003, Darren ran 16:56 at the
regional meet, moving him to 11th on MHS' list of all-time
top 50 fastest 5K times, boys. |
